Brandon and his "Bathing Custume" Bday cake

So it has been 12 years since I made Brandon a Cut out cake for his birthday. Wow, time goes by sooooo fast! Brandon asked for either a "Bathing Custume " or "Spiderman" cake. I opted for the Bathing Custume. You will remember the picture of the Green one-piercer I made Brandon.
Anyway, Brandon was 23 last Tuesday, but since Grandmom and Grandpop Drissel were coming out this week, we waited until tonite to celebrate. Brandon, Natalie, Ethan and the kids came up about 3:30pm, and we had a great time swimming. Kade and Grandpop, both went down the slide!!!! Sorry no pictures of the events, but it was GREAT! Eric and Jackie got up by 7:00 pm ,and had a late dinner
We had tacos , (Natalie and Grandmom's favorite), and Strawberry cake and Rocky Road ice cream for dessert. YUM!
Afterwards we played a rousing game of Dutch shuffle board. Can't pronounce or spell the real name. Jackie was once AGAIN the winner. She usually wins.

Pool Slide Fun

The steps put together

Paulie is a tired puppy! Almost finished, ready to drill holes for anchors in the concrete. Our poor drill almost burned out, had to rent a "Hammer Drill" ( from Home Depot, sorry Mark, Lowe's doesn't rent tools)

Sally ready to go! Boy is it fast, when the slide is wet.

Saturday night, Natalie, Ethan and the kids came up to stay over. After the kiddies were safely asleep, Nat and Ethan tried out the slide. Paul hooked up the hose to the board, so it really went FAST. Ethan must have gone down a million times. Really, he was working on the perfect splash. We thought the jack-knife technique gave the biggest splash. The pool will need water added after last night!

Can't wait to have a Pool Slide Party. See you there!

August gardens

I really don't know what these yellow flowers are; put them in last summer and they just keep growing.
They do need to be deadheaded almost everyday.
My vinca are doing really well now, they love the heat!

Once again, can't tell you what the red flower is. I put in a lot of bulbs, and they came up!The Daisies are on the second go round.

Some type of daisy

We have a lot of flower gardens in the front of the house and backyard. It is so much fun for me to go out and Play in the Dirt! If something doesn't grow as I would like, or gets too big, I just move it. Something I never thought to do before. A garden is a work in progress!

Brandon in a MODEST swimsuit

So, Brandon called me to see if I could make him an old fashion, modest swimsuit.
My first response was, "That is so gay", but being the wonderful person that I am, we made a pattern, and whipped it up. Brandon is going back to Colorado this weekend and will premier the suit at Water World.
