Paulie is going to Washington State

So Paul finally got the REAL ok to go to the new job in Richland, WA. He plans to leave SLC on Saturday and arrive in Richland by Sunday afternoon. It is just a short 11-12 hour drive.
This evening Paul spent about 3 hours on the computer getting his airline tickets for him to come home/ Sally to go there, until Thanksgiving. Thank goodness for Southwest Airlines and their cheap internet specials!!!!
Looks like this job will last for a while, ( could go for 12 years! YIKES) We are planning on seeing much of the Northwest. This job is scheduled for 4- 10hr days/week, therefore lots of sightseeing when Sally goes up.

Water Babies!

Kade loves it when Ethan plays with him in the pool. He is a terrific swimmer. If my camera were faster, I could have gotten more pictures. Oh, well.

















Addie woke up from her nap ready to go swimming. She also loves to play with Daddy in the pool.

Pretty girls in the pool

Yesterday was "Pioneer Day" in Utah, the 24th of July. We had a little picnic and swim. Aaron, Nan and the boys came up also, but had to leave when it started raining. BOO! After we ate dinner, the sun came out again, sooooooo out to the pool we all went again. Natalie always loved to swim, it looks like Addie and Kade will be following in her wave.

Funny Things the Grandkids say

So we had Micah, Caleb and Jewelia over yesteday, Maggie (the dog) and Sophie (the cat) were doing their usual thing and wrestling. JEWELIA says, Maggie is eating the cat!

Last Friday when we went to Lagoon, Jackie took Kade into the ladies room to go potty, KADE sees a lady with toes painted like mine and says, They are just like Grammy's toes!

Sally's Silly Summer Pillows

I just LOVE to make these silly things, drives Paul nuts.
But at least I am not putting more pictures on the walls, and I get to keep making new pillows
I must start thinking of Halloween!

So I am a little nutty about making pillows to match the season/holiday of the year.
Here are some of my latest creations.

Hairspray

This afternoon Paul and I went to see "Hairspray". It was a wonderful movie! The singing and dancing were great, John Travolta was a riot as the mom!
Paul and I give it 4 stars.

Fun at Lagoon

Friday we went to Lagoon, in Farmington, UT. Micah, Caleb, Kade and Jewelia, Jackie, Stephanie, Grammy and Grandpop

We had lots of fun in the Water Park, then did the rides. Kade and Jewelia were good buddies for each other. Micah got to go on some "big kid" rides with Grandpop, and Caleb's most fun ride was the "Ladybug Pop". A good time was had by all, especially with the stop for Concrete at Nielson's in Bountiful. A BIG THANK YOU to Jackie and Stephanie for helping out with the kids!

Today instead of bringing the kids back to our house, we went to Liberty Park, in Salt Lake City. The kids had fun on the 5 little rides they have in the park. Then we went into the Aviary. Micah really liked the birds and was quick to find them in their cages. Caleb wasn't so excited, it WAS hot today. Jewelia was fine as long as she could get back for a ride in the stroller. We ended the day at Wendy's for dinner. Gotta love those Kid's Meals!!!!!

Maggie Graduates from Puppy School

Sally and Maggie at Puppy School graduation. We went to Pet Smart puppy school for 8 weeks.
Miss Pam was a wonderful teacher; Paul and I just need to keep up with the training. Maggie can "come", "stay", "lay down",
"drop it" and chase her tail and "shake"

Lehman Caves

On Saturday, July 7 we drove down to Panaca, Nevada for Paul's cousin's homecoming from a mission to New Foundland. We had a little (150 mile) detour on the way down. The Milford Flats Wildfire closed I 15 for 93 miles. The route we were sent on was scenic at least. The smoke was pretty dense.

The homecoming talks and luncheon afterwards were lovely.

Instead of chancing going North on I 15 we drove up Rt 93 in Nevada.

We stopped at Lehman Caves in Baker, Nevada.
These caves were extensively damaged before the Park Service took over in 1930 something.
Some of the formations are beginning to grow again.

Clover the baby

Clover is the baby mini horse of Clementine. Tom and Kay now have 3 mini's at the farm. They are just the right size and temperment for little hands.
