Mom, Dad and Chris came out for a week.
Paulie's Tours had all
the sights to see planned.
We started off last Tuesday
afternoon at the
Float Preview.
All the floats for the
Day's of '47
parade are on display at Southtowne Expo Center.
Wednesday we went to
"This is the Place Heritage Park".
This is a neat village of old pioneer homes and stores.
We had pictures taken.
lunch at Hire's Rootbeer
then on to Kennecott Copper Mine
"the LARGEST open faced copper mine in the world"
Eric also works there.
Sorry, no pictures,
what happened Paul???
Thursday we went to the
Oruirrh (sounds like o-cur) Mountain
LDS Temple open house
Lunch at the Lion House on Temple Square
in Salt Lake City;
a yummy cafeteria in the
basement of one of Brigham Young's houses.
We girls went shopping at
Gardener Village.
Then a fun family picnic with
Natalie, Ethan, Kade, Addie, Eric and Jackie.
We had a great time swimming.
The splash contest going down the slide
was memorable.
Friday morning we got up bright and early to
go to the "Day's of '47" parade.
This is one of the largest summer parades in the West.
Chris liked the horses, and NO firetrucks.
Japanese Steak house for dinner.
Kade LOVED the fire show, Addie was not
so sure about it.
The food was delicious; we all had a good time.
Monday Paulie's tours went to:
a drive by of Mt. Timpanogoes,
drive on the Alpine Loop,
Sundance resort.
We all went up on the chairlift.
This was a first for Chris.

We finished the mountain tour
at Mirror Lake. I believe that the
elevation is about 10,500 feet above sea level.
It was 95 degrees F in the Valley and
65 degrees F at Mirror Lake.
Chris enjoyed Park City, the shops are fun
to check out.
Then on to a drive by of the
Olympic Park where the skiers train.
We ended our day at Applebee's.
Thanks mom and dad!!!
Our last day was spent at the largest island
in the Great Salt Lake, Antelope Island.
On the way back from the farm at the middle
of the island, we came to a herd of buffalo.
The herd started about 100 years ago with 12
buffalo; now there are 600.
If you drive to Antelope Island, you HAVE
to stop for a concrete at Nielsen's diner.
Concrete is super yummy, thick,
custard ice cream.
We finally made it home with
very full belly's.
Thanks for coming mom, dad and Chris.
When are you coming back????
