Special Sermon

I work at the Church Office Building, doing catering. This past week we were very busy with luncheons for the General Conference this weekend.
So on Thursday and Friday we served 350 members of our Church's General Authorities, including President Monson and his counsellors.
President Monson is a very friendly man, who
loves to talk with people.
His table was the last to leave the luncheon both days.
Friday there was about 5 of us "lunch ladies" left in
the ball room cleaning up when President Monson was leaving.
I was over by his table and asked him if he remembered
Paul's father Vernon Hemingway. (They were in the same
church ward way back when).
He was so friendly and said that he remembers a Counselor of his,
Eugene Hemingway. He then went on to talk to us for about 15-20 minutes.
He bore his testimony that God does live, and gave us a few
examples. He had been a bishop at age of 23, having 84 widows in his Ward.
He always visited them, even after being released as Bishop.
He was able to speak at ALL of these sisters funerals. Even as he
traveled for the Church weeks at a time.
What a special sermon we were able to
enjoy.
I am so grateful to be able to
"rub shoulders" with so many of the
leaders of our Church, by being a
caterer.
General Conference was very inspirational for me
once again.

Day our with Grandpop

Today while I was at work
Paul took Micah, Caleb and Jewelia
for sight seeing tour.
He wanted to take them to Kennecott;
but curses, too much snow, no visitors.
So on to Plan B.
Bridal Vail Falls
Sundance
Cabela's and then on to McDonald's.

Look what Sally made! ( a long, long time a go)

I made this for my mom's mom, Nanny,
in 1971. I went to ceramics class way back then.
When Nanny died, I got the little chick back.
I painted this little guy in 1997.
Can you tell love to decorate for the holidays?
Ok, who wants to put in dibs for these gems?

Paul is a unofficial Red Hatter

Today we had Red Hats at our house for ice cream sundaes, and watch the movie Momma Mia. Paul was a real trooper, he even wore a red shirt, and red Ute's baseball cap. He was on the phone with 2 of the girls giving driving directions, made the delicious popcorn and was a great movie projectionist.
All the "girls" like him.
Thank you, Honey Bunny!
P.S. Donna is pictured above, she just got back
from Mardi
Gras

Not much going on...

Not much going on around our place,
here is a picture of Sally and her girls,
Maggie and Sophie, resting up after a
long exhaustive day!

I planted this Amaryllis bulb before Christmas,

I thought it was dead, it didn't do anything for 2 months.

The dirt in the pot even started to get mold!

But low and behold, look what grew !!
