Special Sermon

I work at the Church Office Building, doing catering. This past week we were very busy with luncheons for the General Conference this weekend.
So on Thursday and Friday we served 350 members of our Church's General Authorities, including President Monson and his counsellors.
President Monson is a very friendly man, who
loves to talk with people.
His table was the last to leave the luncheon both days.
Friday there was about 5 of us "lunch ladies" left in
the ball room cleaning up when President Monson was leaving.
I was over by his table and asked him if he remembered
Paul's father Vernon Hemingway. (They were in the same
church ward way back when).
He was so friendly and said that he remembers a Counselor of his,
Eugene Hemingway. He then went on to talk to us for about 15-20 minutes.
He bore his testimony that God does live, and gave us a few
examples. He had been a bishop at age of 23, having 84 widows in his Ward.
He always visited them, even after being released as Bishop.
He was able to speak at ALL of these sisters funerals. Even as he
traveled for the Church weeks at a time.
What a special sermon we were able to
enjoy.
I am so grateful to be able to
"rub shoulders" with so many of the
leaders of our Church, by being a
caterer.
General Conference was very inspirational for me
once again.
