Quick weekend trip to Idaho

Paul loves to go on short weekend trips. This past Friday we drove up to Black Foot, ID.
Spent the night there; Saturday morning we drove to "Craters of the Moon" National Monument.
This place is really cool, 83 sq miles of lave fields and tunnels.
After that we drove up to Hailey, then on to Ketchum and Sun Valley. Paul wanted to visit Ernest Hemingway's grave and memorial. The Sun Valley/Ketchum area is very high class... not even a decent tourist store! The area is very pretty though.
Sunday we drove south to Shoshone Indian Ice Caves, another very cool,(cold really) place.
This cave is about 90 ft. under ground, is 3 blocks long, 30 ft. wide and 40 ft. in height.
The floor is completely frozen, the temp in the cave vary from 28 to 33 degrees.
Twin Falls was our next stop. These falls are called the Niagara of the West.
Our last stop was to see the "Golden Spike" Historic Site in Promontory Summit, UT .
There are replicas of both steam engines. I had always heard about this place and was glad we made the effort to get there.

Great pics. I really liked the moose on skates and the colorful wire horse.
