The Pendleton, Oregon underground

So we found out about this neat tour of the Pendleton, OR. underground
Most of the city blocks all had basements that were all connected.
The Chinese workers had to live underground.

This is the butcher shop, it was cooler to store the meat and cut it

in the underground.

These are glass skylights built into the sidewalks above.

Sally and the fur trader

This is a room that the Chinese workers had to live in.

Not too nice

We also visited a Speakeasy, complete with

a secret passageway

What's a speakeasy? Or was that a town?

A speakeasy was an illegal salon during Prohibition
